Please don’t forget about the Valley Food Pantry throughout the summer months. Our shopping cart is always in the social hall. They are in need of paper products, macaroni and cheese, canned pastas, etc. Thank you!
Reminder: If you signed up for the bus trip to Sight and Sound’s production of “Jesus”…the bus will depart from the parking lot of the UCC Church on Wednesday, June 20th at 11:15 am. A box lunch will be provided, and they will be stopping at Shady Maple Buffet for dinner after the show.
The Worship Time will remain 10:30 am throughout the summer.
If you can make phone calls, we are looking for you! The Worship Committee needs a person to call for flowers for the months of April, May and June. If you are interested, please see Jacque or Heidi.
TAG Youth Group will have a Rummage Sale on May 19th from 8:00 until Noon. Donations are welcome, please contact Rena Bicking with any questions.
Rest Stop 2018-To those who have signed up for the morning shift, there is no need to go to the church first. Go directly to the rest stop for your designated time. Because we have the trailer, all supplies will be on site when you get there. If you are baking and working, bring your baked goods with you. If you need to drop baked goods at the church, you can do so on Thursday evening between 6 and 6:30 PM or any morning between 7:30 and 7:45 AM. To those who have not baked before, we are looking for cookies, cupcakes, or anything easy to grab. We are still in need of workers and bakers. Please see us after church. This really is a fun event. Not only are we bonding with each other, but we get to minister to the travelers on I-80 by just being there.
On Sunday May 20th, we will hold our annual Human Food Chain during Sunday School. Everyone is invited to join our “chain” this year for our Interfaith event. We will begin at 9:00 am and pass the food to the pantry. Cake and drinks will be served in the CUCC social hall where we will join youth and adults from our other community churches in fellowship.
Pentecost Sunday is on May 20th, everyone is invited to wear RED, the liturgical color for that day.
The 60 voice Freeland Community Choir will present it’s Easter Cantata, Hallelujah! What a Savior! on Sunday, April 15th at 7:00 PM at CUMC. There will be a free will offering taken to support the group so that they can present future concerts. We always have a fellowship time afterwards, so we would appreciate finger foods for the social time. The concert will also be presented the same day at 3:00 PM at St. Johns Reformed United Church of Christ, 98 Washington Street, Freeland. An encore performance will be given on Sunday, April 22 at Faith United Church of Christ, 21 Faith Drive, Hazleton. Faith Unite Church of Christ is located behind Independence Toyota.
Drive Thru Chicken Bar B Q will be held on April 28th from noon until 5:00 pm. $10.00 included ½ chicken, baked potato, applesauce, roll, butter and dessert. Tickets will be available after Worship Service.
