School Days Supply Drive! As we begin a new school year, we are reminded of those children that do not have school supplies or even a backpack especially in our impoverished areas some being our not so distant neighbors. For this month of September, we would like to ask you to bring in new school supplies, lunch boxes, and backpacks that will be distributed to the area’s schools in the valley area and in Hazleton. The school supplies will be divided between schools so our outreach can be spread wider to all of those children in need. We have so much, and we should give back to the community and this is a great way to do just that. Please place these items that you are able to give in the bus labeled School Days Supply Drive.
Rummage Sale: Yes, we are having a Rummage Sale this year!! So many of you have been asking if we are and the date has been set. Mark your calendar for October 18th and 19th. More information will follow, but in the meantime, start collecting all those goodies that are “just what I’ve been looking for” for someone else.
Trunk or Treat will take place on October 31st 6:00-8:00. If you would like to be a part of this year’s trunk-or-treat, please sign up in the social hall. Candy donations are much needed and there is a box located in the social hall for the candy donations. You can bring your car to decorate, or just come dressed up and wander around handing out candy, talking with kids, and being with your church community. Please contact Beth Yost with any questions.
Once again, our Sunday School mission project for September and October is to collect donations for the Hazleton Animal Shelter. This is a mission near and dear to our children, they always request we do this one! They need pet food, toys, blankets, cleaning supplies, treats, cat litter etc. You may place your donation in the marked box in the social hall.
The Bazaar Committee is looking for someone to do sewing. They have material which has been cut out for aprons and they are hoping to find someone to do the sewing. They are also in need of any craft items to sell, theme baskets for the auction, jewelry and gently used household items. Now is the time to go through those items which you no longer use and donate them to the Church. If you have any questions or can donate, please contact Mary Lou Legg @ 570-788-1390 or Heather Groce @ 570-788-3415.
